BLS Healthcare Provider Renewal - (4 Hrs)

Target Audience
Healthcare professionals, educators, and students who work and/or study in the medical field (i.e., physicians, medical/nursing students, RNs, CNAs,  respiratory/physical/occupational therapists, radiologists/technicians, and other Allied Healthcare workers who are renewing their BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card.  This course is credentialed!
Course Design
Train healthcare professionals, educators, and students to recognize life-threatening medical emergencies (i.e., cardiac arrest); maintain and/or restore breathing and circulation to adults, children and infants; effectively use a bag valve mask, pocket mask, automated external defibrillator (AED); and relieve severe choking in a responsive or unresponsive adult, child or infant.

Course Design

Heartsaver CPR/AED (Community) - (4 Hrs)

Healthcare professionals, educators, and students who work and/or study in the medical field (i.e., physicians, medical/nursing students, RNs, CNAs,  respiratory/physical/occupational therapists, radiologists/technicians, and other Allied Healthcare workers who has never taken a BLS Healthcare Provider CPR class.  This course is credentialed!
Course Design
Train students with basic life support skills of CPR for adults, children and infants as well as recognize signs of four major emergencies - heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and severe choking.  NO certification card is issued for this course.

Course Design
Provide skills practice (Part 2) and skills testing (Part 3) to students who have taken and completed an American Heart Association Online Part 1 training course and written test (where applicable).  Students must print the Online Part 1 Completion Certificate and bring to skills practice and skills testing session.  Students must call to schedule Skills Check after obtaining Online Completion Certification.  Skills Checks are for credentialed courses.

Target Audience
General community workers (that are not healthcare professionals) whose job requires them to be first responders in an emergency, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), or have a CPR certification card (i.e., firefighters, lifeguards, police/security officers, airline personnel, personal trainers, daycare providers/centers, nannies, educators, family caregivers).

Heartsaver First-Aid (3 to 3 1/2 Hrs)

Course Design
Teach students to provide immediate medical care to someone with an injury or illness before advanced medical help arrives.  This course covers first-aid basics, medical emergencies, injury related emergencies, and environmental related emergencies.  This course is credentialed!
Target Audience
Healthcare professionals, medical emergency first responders or individuals who are required or are interested in learning how to provide first-aid to adults, children and infants.  This course meets OSHA and the Maryland Department of Education requirements for first-aid.
